BRISBANE, Australia and NEW YORK, Nov. 4, 2026
Dr. Andrew Palmer joins as Vice President of Artificial Intelligence and Dr. Stanislav Funiak as Vice President of Engineering and Product
BRISBANE, Australia and NEW YORK, Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — WearOptimo, an AI-native physiological intelligence company developing next-generation Microwearable sensors for continuous health monitoring, today announced the appointment of Andrew Palmer, Ph.D., as Vice President of Artificial Intelligence and Stanislav Funiak, Ph.D., as Vice President of Engineering and Product; strengthening the company’s leadership team as it enters its next phase of technology and product development.
“Andrew and Stanislav bring valuable expertise as we advance our powerful physiological intelligence platform to wearable health products,” said Dr. Mark Kendall, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of WearOptimo. “They are driving both parts of our platform: our novel sensing hardware, producing proprietary signals from within the skin, decoded into health modalities with our own AI-engine. Stanislav’s expertise in sensing and intelligent systems is helping take our Microwearable technology from prototype to product; while Andrew’s experience in real-time sensor data processing is instrumental in strengthening the AI engine behind our technology. We’re thrilled to welcome them to the team as we shape the next generation of health wearables.”
“It’s great to see how innovative sensor design and deep biosignal detection can come together to create a technology with the potential to make a real difference in people’s health,” said Dr. Stanislav Funiak. “Transforming the company’s core sensor technology into a scalable commercial product is an exciting engineering challenge, and I’m looking forward to this new endeavor.”
“WearOptimo is at the forefront of sensor technology for health-based applications, and the data captured by its Microwearable platform offers a significant opportunity to better understand individual physiology through AI,” said Dr. Andrew Palmer. “I look forward to helping advance WearOptimo’s existing AI capabilities and expand its platform potential to transform complex biosignals into meaningful physiological insights.”
Dr. Funiak is a computer scientist and engineer with over 20 years of experience in sensing, distributed computing, and hardware-software co-design. He has extensive experience leading research and development across software architecture and robotics. Dr. Funiak was a Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, leading a multi-disciplinary group focusing on robotic perception and autonomy. Prior to CSIRO, he spent 12 years working for Silicon Valley startups, architecting the compiler stack for wafer-scale processors at Cerebras Systems and performing user modelling and natural language processing at Meta (Facebook). Dr. Funiak holds a PhD in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University and degrees in electrical engineering, computer science, and mathematics from MIT.
Dr. Palmer is a roboticist and engineering leader with over 15 years of experience building systems that let machines sense, map and navigate the world. He has spent his career leading multi-disciplinary teams through the full journey from research prototype to field-ready product, most recently overseeing the data processing and SLAM software behind Emesent’s industry-leading mapping and drone autonomy systems. Earlier, at Siemens Mobility in Berlin, he led development of the mapping, localisation, and planning software behind the world’s first autonomous tram demonstrator. Dr. Palmer holds a PhD in Robotics from the University of Sydney, and degrees in Mechatronic Engineering and Finance from the University of Queensland.
About WearOptimo
WearOptimo is an AI-native physiological intelligence company creating a new paradigm for health wearables. Its integrated technology platform is built with its proprietary “hardware” and native AI. Its Microwearable features pain-free microelectrodes that reach just a hair’s width into the skin, capturing signals conventional surface wearables cannot access. WearOptimo’s physiology-guided AI engine translates these signals into real-time, individualized insights, making the human physiological state continuously readable, predictive, and actionable. Hydration and heat-risk intelligence is the company’s first application, beginning in elite sport, resources and defense, and also other markets, where hydration and heat management are critical to human performance and safety.
