ORLANDO, FL, UNITED STATES, November 4, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Camp Life Skills by Living Arrows, a summer day camp based in the Lake Nona area of Orlando, has been named a winner of the 2026 Best of Florida Award. The recognition celebrates a program built around hands-on life skills education for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Local families can expect more than just summer childcare; here summer break will be intentionally spent instilling character values, making positive friendships and gaining new abilities.
What sets Camp Life Skills apart is its structured, theme-driven approach to summer. Each week offers a different focus, from a Life Skills Boot Camp built around independence and problem-solving to an Entrepreneurship week where campers run their own lemonade stand budget and pitch, and a Superhero Academy centered on character and teamwork. The program is led by certified, background-checked teachers, and older siblings have the opportunity to serve as Junior Counselors, gaining leadership experience of their own along the way rather than simply aging out of the program.
Beyond the weekly curriculum, Camp Life Skills reflects the personal mission of founder Coach Travis Alvarez, a longtime physical education teacher and two-time Teacher of the Year in the Lake Nona community. Ten percent of camp profits are directed toward supporting local foster children. Additionally, the program sets aside scholarships for families who need financial assistance, reflecting a commitment to making life skills education accessible regardless of a family’s financial circumstances.
“Winning the Best of Florida Award means so much to our entire team,” said Travis Alvarez, founder of Camp Life Skills by Living Arrows. “We built this program because we believe every child deserves the chance to build real confidence and character, not just fill a summer, and this recognition tells us that message is reaching families throughout our community.”
Looking ahead, Camp Life Skills by Living Arrows plans to continue expanding its programming for children throughout the greater Orlando area. As the program carries its 2026 Best of Florida Award forward, it remains committed to its founding mission: “Equipping the Next Generation to Make a Difference.”
