Available directly to students and through partnerships with U.S. and international medical schools, the platform combines adaptive study plans, comprehensive resources, expert instruction, and performance insights to drive student success.

The USMLE is a three-step examination program for medical licensure in the United States, with Step 1 assessing students’ understanding and application of foundational medical sciences, and Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK) evaluating their ability to apply medical knowledge and clinical reasoning to patient care. Both represent major milestones in medical education and preparation for residency; Step 3 assesses clinical decision-making and patient management skills.

At the heart of Kaplan’s new platform is a personalized learning experience tailored to each student’s goals, schedule, and academic needs. Students enter their target exam dates and available study hours, and the platform generates individualized plans prioritizing high-yield content. For students preparing independently, Kaplan offers two flexible options:

  • FlexTrack is a self-paced, 24/7 learning experience featuring dynamic study plans, targeted assessments, performance tracking, instructional videos, Kaplan’s popular Lecture Notes, and an exam-like question bank. Students can identify areas requiring additional attention and focus their study time where it matters most.

  • Live Online is an instructor-led experience featuring live classes taught by experienced medical faculty, and includes access to FlexTrack. The offering combines expert guidance, structured preparation, and a supportive learning community.

Kaplan’s USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK Live Online courses are also backed by a pass guarantee, giving eligible students who do not pass their exams the option of a full tuition refund or three additional months of course access at no cost.

Medical schools worldwide rely on Kaplan’s institutional platform, which brings board USMLE preparation and faculty-directed coursework together in one integrated environment. Customizable content aligns with institutional curricula, while a centralized assignment system helps students balance coursework with preparation.
